 Released to commemorate the company’s 90th anniversary, this is a limited edition of 90 guitars. Featuring a mahogany neck and Indian rosewood sides and back, it produces a truly magnificent, full-bodied sound with great depth. Its tight, well-defined tone—which offers a different character from the maple version—is particularly appealing.Furthermore, features such as the cursive logo on the headstock—reminiscent of the pre-war era—and traditional-style position marks make this a model truly worthy of the “anniversary” designation, sure to delight enthusiasts. Incidentally, this model was a favorite of Pink Floyd’s David Gilmour and was used during the “Division Bell Tour.”

Gibson J-200 "Sparkle Sunburst" '91 #19910006

This 1991 Custom Shop "Jumbo 200" is clearly a special instrument, as evidenced by its serial number beginning with "1991~." It is a luxurious model featuring a flower vine design that blooms from the pickguard to the fingerboard and onto the headstock, meticulously crafted down to the finest details.The gold sparkle finish—infused with gold dust—applied to the body purfling, the center line on the back, the soundhole, both sides of the fingerboard, and around the headstock exudes overwhelming character and a sense of luxury. This piece can be seen as a precursor to the 100th-anniversary edition released later, which made extensive use of sparkle decorations. It delivers a superb sound where the clarity unique to maple and the deep reverb characteristic of the Jumbo are beautifully balanced.

A Custom Shop model named “Vine,” referring to the climbing plant. Since it appears in the catalog, it can be considered one of the more well-known Custom Shop models. True to its name, this deluxe version features gorgeous, lustrous abalone vine inlays on the fingerboard.Avalon inlays are also applied around the soundhole, on the body purfling, and on the bridge, while the pickguard is lavishly decorated with hand-carved vine motifs. The engravings on the Wavery Gold tuning machine buttons exude a subtle sense of luxury. This is a truly exceptional instrument, producing a bright and clear sound from the finest curly maple.You can also enjoy a line-in sound by retrofitting an L.R. Baggs pickup.
