SEShires was founded in Boston, USA in 1995. Founder Steve Shires possesses both experience as a performer and a deep understanding of instrument making. Initially, production was limited to a small workshop, but the high quality of their instruments gradually gained recognition, and they expanded their support base, mainly among professional musicians. In 2014, they joined the Eastman Group, and while their supply system has been established, the handcrafted philosophy at the core of their production remains unchanged.
