A. Yes, of course. We’re happy to repair and adjust instruments purchased elsewhere or those you’ve inherited. Even if you haven’t played it in a while or aren’t sure of its condition, we’ll start with a thorough inspection (diagnosis) and handle everything with care.

 

Q. Do you handle major repairs for cellos and violas, such as “cracks” or “soundpost adjustments”?

A. Yes, we do. For viola and cello repairs, our skilled craftsmen perform adhesive repairs for cracks, as well as adjustments and replacements of the soundpost—which significantly affects the tone—and fingerboard shaping. Since repair time and costs vary depending on the condition of the instrument, we would appreciate it if you could bring your instrument in for an initial diagnosis.
