TCGAKKI, as a member of the music industry, hopes this industry remains vibrant and enjoyable.
We may just be “that secondhand shop in Shin-Okubo” or “that store you’ve seen on YouTube lately,” but thanks to you, we’ve been in business for 35 years. We’ve always valued bringing music lovers together and doing what we enjoy. Events like our “Custom Guitar Contest” are a perfect example of that.
However, the band boom is now a thing of the past, and opportunities for young people to pick up an instrument are dwindling. It’s not uncommon to hear music stores and live houses say, “We don’t have many young customers.” We feel a sense of crisis that, if this continues, musical instruments might become something distant and out of reach.
That’s why we took a simple approach.
“Music stores are fun”—we realized we needed to convey that message.
When we invited a high school band to visit, their eyes lit up as they explored the store, and they enjoyed themselves for hours. There was an experience there that you simply can’t get online.
We are no longer in an era where music stores compete against each other; we are in an era where the entire industry must work together to attract more customers.
We believe that valuing every single customer and spreading the appeal of musical instruments will lead to a brighter future.
This is the spirit that drives our music store. We would be honored to have you as a customer.
