Introducing the latest purchase example from Okubo Gakki

June 8, 2025
Brand Purchased
THROJA 900GB Bass Trombone
Purchase Price
920,000 yen
Agent's Comment
"This is a bass trombone from a German handmade brand. Not only is the finish beautiful, but the instrument’s craftsmanship is exceptional. It was in excellent condition, clearly having been handled with great care, so we purchased it at a high appraisal price comparable to retail."

May 19, 2025
Brand
Edwards T396-A Tenor Bass Trombone
Purchase Price
245,000 yen
Agent's Comment
"This was the signature model of a famous trombonist who enjoyed immense popularity among music students, but the artist himself has since switched to another manufacturer. Recently, it has virtually disappeared from the market, as if its former popularity were a lie; however, we evaluated the instrument based on its inherent potential rather than fleeting trends."

January 7, 2025
Brand
THEIN Belcanto-TY
Purchase Price
682,000 yen
Staff Comment
"This is an ambitious model developed by THEIN—a brand that enjoys immense popularity in Europe—specifically for the American market. Its distinctive appearance, featuring a balancer weight shaped like a sliced disc and a screw bell, is truly eye-catching. We purchased this item as a trade-in for the purchase of another THEIN model from our inventory."

March 22, 2025
Brand
Wilhelm Monke F-Alto Alto Trombone
Purchase Price
150,000 yen
Agent's Comment
"Wilhelm Monke is a manufacturer that branched off from the historic Joseph Monke workshop. While it is often underestimated due to the strong impression that its products since the 1970s have primarily been low-cost models aimed at students, the company once produced excellent instruments. Since this particular instrument is nearly 80 years old, it showed some age-related wear, but we were able to purchase it at the highest possible price."

May 26, 2024
Brands We Buy
Günter Frost B/C-Trombone (Tenor-Basso)
Purchase Price
200,000 yen
Agent's Comment
"This is an incredibly niche trombone designed and supervised by a former trombonist with the Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra. I remember being thrilled from the moment we were contacted about it. In reality, since there are few people looking for this specific instrument, we tend to hesitate when it comes to purchasing it. However, as a true music lover, I didn’t hesitate to acquire it."

July 30, 2024
Brand
LÄTZSCH “Kuhn” model Tenor-Bass Trombone
Purchase Price
200,000 yen
Staff Comment
"This is a tenor bass trombone from LÄTZSCH, one of Germany's premier manufacturers. Moreover, it is a rare instrument that was worked on by Herbert, the founder who propelled LÄTZSCH to global prominence, during his later years. Although it required significant repair costs, we evaluated it highly due to its historical significance."

May 27, 2025
Brand
KING 3BPLS Silver Bell Tenor Trombone
Purchase Price
240,000 yen
Staff Comment
"This King tenor trombone enjoys overwhelming popularity in the so-called 'small-bore jazz trombone' category. However, unlike the standard 2B or 3B models, this is a special model with an expanded bore size, and the bell is made of silver. This really appealed to my inner enthusiast. The customer was also satisfied with the appraisal amount."

April 24, 2024
Brand
LÄTZSCH J-127PS Tenor Trombone
Purchase Price
270,000 yen
Agent's Comment
"This is the only jazz tenor trombone produced by LÄTZSCH, the premier German manufacturer we introduced earlier, and it features a special acid-etched finish. Just this information alone completely captivated our buyer. We’re pleased that the customer was satisfied with the appraisal price."

Customer Testimonials

Testimonials from Customers Who Have Used Our Service

Mr. F, Tokyo
“I’ve enjoyed playing various instruments for many years, but before I knew it, my house was overflowing with guitars and trombones. I consulted them because I felt it was time to start preparing for the end of my life. The phone support was excellent, and the staff who came to my home listened to my story with genuine care. Including this trombone, I entrusted them with over 30 instruments in total.”

GETZEN Tenor-Bass Trombone
Purchase Price
190,000 yen

Mr. K, Kanagawa Prefecture
“I stopped playing after I started working. Since this was the instrument my parents bought for me when I entered high school, I’d kept it in good condition, but I felt bad for the instrument because I hadn’t touched it in nearly 10 years. After discussing it with my parents, I decided to sell it. During the transaction, the staff member told me, ‘We’ll make sure to service it properly so that a high school student who practices as hard as you did back then will be happy to receive it.’ I was really happy to hear that.”
Item Purchased
Vincent Bach Tenor Bass Trombone
Purchase Price
120,000 yen

Mr. O, Osaka Prefecture
"When I was part of an amateur orchestra, I was suddenly assigned to play the alto trombone. I considered renting one, but with the performance date fast approaching and needing to practice intensively, I decided to take the plunge and buy it. The performance went off without a hitch, but as expected, I didn’t get another chance to play it afterward. On top of that, I left the orchestra to join a big band, so I figured I’d use it even less. Just as I was starting to think about selling it, I found the tenor trombone I’d been considering buying in your inventory, so I consulted with you. I had it appraised as a trade-in."
Item Purchased
C.G. CONN Alto Trombone
Purchase Price
132,000 yen

Mr. N, Shizuoka Prefecture
"Since this is a discontinued model and I’ve customized it in various ways, I wasn’t expecting much from the appraisal. However, they actually gave it a high valuation, saying that the customizations had enhanced the model’s potential. I’m glad the staff really understood the instrument."
