About Leaving Instruments for Repair (Click to view details)

・We only accept instruments owned by the customer for repair.
・Once you have agreed to the estimate and we have begun work, cancellations are not permitted
. ・If we are unable to contact you for more than two weeks after accepting your repair request and sending you a quote or notification regarding additional repairs, we will cancel the repair and return the instrument to you with shipping charges due upon delivery. Additionally, if any work has been performed up to that point, we will invoice you for the corresponding labor costs via cash on delivery. ・If you do not pick up your instrument within
one month of being notified that the repair is complete, we will return it to you with shipping charges due upon delivery.Nevertheless, if the item is returned to our shop and we send an email to the email address you provided requesting pickup, but we do not receive a reply or a response specifying the specific method of pickup within 10 days (the same applies if a cash-on-delivery shipment is returned twice), please be advised that we will deem this an abandonment of ownership and dispose of the item at our discretion. You agree to leave the disposition of the item in our sole discretion. (The same applies if we are unable to reach you by phone or if we do not receive a reply to the email we sent.) ・If other defects or
issues are identified during the repair process, we may contact you regarding a change to the estimate. ・Depending on the nature of the repair
, a separate estimate fee may apply.
・If an estimate fee is charged, you will be responsible for paying that fee even if you decide not to proceed with the repair. ・While we take the
utmost care during repairs, we cannot be held responsible for minor damage resulting from the repair process (such as small scratches, dents, slight changes in condition, or discoloration).
・Delivery dates may change due to various factors, such as the repair process
. ・For repairs requiring part replacement, we may be unable to source certain parts. In such cases, we will proceed using an equivalent substitute. ・Parts deemed unusable
as a result of replacement will be disposed of unless you specifically request otherwise. If you wish to retrieve these parts, please indicate so on this form.
・In the event of damage occurring while the instrument is in our possession due to unforeseen natural disasters or accidents, we will perform repairs but cannot accept any further liability. ・If a defect occurs in the repaired area
, we will perform a re-repair. The repair warranty period is, in principle, 90 days from the date the repair is completed. ・If an instrument is sent to us
by mail for the purpose of adjustment (such as setup changes based on the customer’s playing preferences or feel), it may be difficult to clearly determine the “presence or absence of a defect” as we would with a repair.・If you wish to have your instrument readjusted, please contact us within one week of its arrival. We will perform the readjustment once at our expense, covering both ways shipping.
・Parts other than those repaired, as well as any parts provided by the customer, are not covered by this warranty.
・While we handle all items entrusted to us with the utmost care, please note that we cannot accept any liability for minor scratches that occur during storage or changes in condition due to natural aging.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Is the repair estimate free? Can I cancel after seeing the price?

A. Yes, estimates are free of charge. Our expert staff will personally inspect the condition of your guitar or Bass and recommend the best course of action along with an accurate cost estimate. Please rest assured
that if you are not satisfied with the estimate amount or details, you can cancel as long as we haven’t started the work.
(*Please note that you will be responsible for return shipping costs in the event of cancellation.)
Even if you’re “undecided about whether to have it repaired,” please feel free to contact us first for an initial assessment of its current condition.

Q. Can you repair guitars or Bass purchased at other stores?

A. Yes, of course. We’re happy to accept instruments purchased at other stores or acquired through online auctions and the like.
Please
also feel free to use our services for a second opinion on instruments that other shops have told you “can’t be repaired” or “you should replace.” At TC-TUNE, we leverage our extensive stock of vintage parts and unique expertise to help restore instruments you’d almost given up on.

Q. How long does it take to complete a repair? Can you handle rush repairs (same-day service)?

A. Our standard turnaround time is approximately 2 weeks to 1 month from the time we receive your instrument, though this may vary depending on the nature of the repair and our current workload. If you have a specific
need—such as “I have a live performance coming up soon and need it fixed quickly”—please be sure to contact us in advance via chat or email, clearly stating that you “require same-day repair service.” We will do our best to accommodate your request as flexibly as possible.

Q. My instrument is quite old, and I was told it couldn’t be repaired because parts aren’t available. Can you still repair it?

A. Please feel free to consult with us. At TCGAKKI, we maintain a large inventory of genuine parts for older guitars and Bass, as well as compatible vintage parts. We specialize in repairs and restorations using
parts that are difficult to obtain at typical repair shops.

Q. I live far away—can I request a repair by mail?

A. Yes, we accept repair requests via mail-in from anywhere in Japan. After applying
for a repair ticket, please send your instrument to our shop. Upon
arrival, our repair technician will assess its condition and discuss the repair plan with you via email or phone. We strive to provide the same level of reassurance
as an in-person visit by sending you photos of the repair progress as we work.

Q. What kinds of modifications (customizations) do you handle?

A. We offer a wide range of services, including pickup replacements and wiring modifications, as well as component installations and the addition of special switches. Even if you have a
vague idea—such as “I want a fuller sound” or “I want to reduce noise”—our experienced staff will propose concrete customization plans.

Q. What payment methods do you accept? Is installment payment available?

A. Yes, we accept various payment methods.
In-store, you can pay with cash, credit cards, and electronic money. For mail-order requests
, in addition to credit card payments, bank transfers, and cash on delivery, shopping loans (installment payments) are also available.

Q. Can you repair instruments that are quite old?

A. Yes, please leave it to us. Since TC-TUNE specializes in vintage guitar repairs, handling instruments that are decades old is our greatest strength.
Our repair technicians are well-versed in the unique issues specific to older instruments—such as warping of the wood and deterioration of parts due to aging—and will carefully restore them without compromising the instrument’s value or tone. We can also handle difficult cases that “other shops have turned down,
” as well as repairs requiring rare vintage parts, by drawing on our extensive inventory.
