A team of experts dedicated to supporting your musical life through repair and tuning services
“TC-TUNE is the exclusive repair team for TCGAKKI and Advance Guitars.”
“Why does a store specializing in used and vintage instruments need an in-house repair team?” Some of you may be wondering this. The role of
“TC-TUNE” is to “create TCGAKKI’s products.” Every instrument
sold by TCGAKKI is repaired, adjusted, and inspected by TC-TUNE. We completely disassemble every instrument we buy from customers, clean it thoroughly, repair any damaged parts, and perform proactive adjustments to maximize the instrument’s potential.
TCGAKKI and Advance Guitars place great importance on delivering “playable instruments” to our customers, and TC-TUNE supports that philosophy behind the scenes.
It is precisely because TCGAKKI and Advance Guitars are specialty stores for used and vintage instruments that an in-house repair team is indispensable.
“TC-TUNE does more than just repair instruments.”
Our specialized repair team ensures each instrument is brought to a condition befitting a product from a store specializing in used and vintage instruments. TC-TUNE focuses on maximizing an
instrument’s potential and enhancing its playability. We want our customers to base their instrument selection solely on “appearance” and “sound.”
We don’t want you to make decisions like, “I like the way it looks, but it’s hard to play… or ‘The look isn’t great, but this one plays better, so I’ll go with this one.’” That’s precisely why TC-TUNE maximizes each instrument’s potential and is committed to ensuring excellent playability.
Furthermore, at TCGAKKI and Advance Guitars, we believe that our relationship with customers doesn’t end with the purchase of an instrument—that’s just the beginning.
As the repair team for TC-TUNE, our goal is not simply to provide “instruments that are problem-free at the time of sale,” but rather “instruments that customers can continue to use for a long time,” and we aim to walk alongside our customers throughout their musical journeys.
“TC-TUNE also plays a vital role in the instrument buyback process.”

Chief Repair Technician
Soichiro
Tanaka Born in 1988 in Yanagawa City
, Fukuoka Prefecture. During his university years, he became fascinated by the mechanics and structure of musical instruments, putting his studies on the back burner to immerse himself in tinkering with them.
At the same time, he handled PA (sound engineering) for a band club, where he learned the importance of crafting the sound for the entire band, not just individual instruments. After graduating from college, he enrolled in the ESP Guitar Craft Academy.
Upon graduation, he applied for a sales position at The Used Instrument Shop (now TCGAKKI), but was told, “We’re planning to set up a new repair booth,” and was recruited on the spot as a repair technician.
Through trial and error, working in collaboration with and supported by many people, he built the current TC-TUNE from the ground up.
