A team of experts dedicated to supporting your musical life through repair and tuning services
“TC-TUNE is the exclusive repair team for TCGAKKI and Advance Guitars.”
“Why does a store specializing in used and vintage instruments need an exclusive repair team?” Some of you might be wondering that.
The role of “TC-TUNE” is to “create TCGAKKI products.”
Every instrument sold at TCGAKKI is repaired, adjusted, and inspected by TC-TUNE. We completely disassemble every instrument we purchase from customers, clean it thoroughly, repair any damaged parts, and perform proactive adjustments to maximize the instrument’s potential.
TCGAKKI・Advance Guitars places great importance on delivering “playable instruments” to our customers, and TC-TUNE supports this philosophy behind the scenes.
As a specialty store for used and vintage instruments, TCGAKKI・Advance Guitars absolutely relies on its dedicated repair team.
“TC-TUNE does more than just repair instruments.”
Our specialized repair team ensures each instrument is restored to a condition befitting a “product from a specialty store for used and vintage instruments.”
TC-TUNE maximizes the potential of each instrument and is committed to improving playability. We want our customers to base their instrument selection solely on “appearance” and “sound.”
We don’t want you to make decisions like, “I like the way it looks, but it’s hard to play… or ‘The look isn’t great, but this one plays better, so I’ll choose this one.’” That’s precisely why TC-TUNE maximizes the potential of each instrument and is committed to ensuring excellent playability.
Furthermore, at TCGAKKI・Advance Guitars, we believe that our relationship with customers doesn’t end with the purchase of an instrument—that’s just the beginning.
As the repair team for TC-TUNE, our goal is not just to provide “instruments that are problem-free at the time of sale,” but rather “instruments that customers can continue to use for a long time,” and we aim to walk alongside our customers throughout their musical journeys.
“TC-TUNE also plays a vital role in the buyback process.”
At TCGAKKI・Advance Guitars, we primarily deal in used instruments.
TC-TUNE plays a major role in this process as well.
We believe that by maximizing an instrument’s potential through TC-TUNE, we can increase its value. That is why TCGAKKI・Advance Guitars is able to confidently offer high buyback appraisals.
TC-TUNE also supports our “purchase service unique to a specialty store for used and vintage instruments.”
“Making every instrument easy to play and sound great.”

“TC-TUNE’s Track Record”
・Repair and adjustment of approximately 2,000 instruments per year
At TC-TUNE, we handle the repair and adjustment of approximately 2,000 instruments annually.
Most of these are products from TCGAKKI and Advanced Guitars. We handle instruments from a wide variety of manufacturers, both domestic and international, and the price range of the instruments we repair and tune extends from tens of thousands to tens of millions of yen.
・Responsible for Final Adjustments onTMG Guitar and MG Bass Instruments Before Domestic Shipment
TC-TUNE is responsible for the inspection and final setup of TMG Guitar and MG Bass instruments, for which TCGAKKI serves as the official distributor.
TCGAKKI deeply understands “the merits of Fender and Gibson from the era when XX was the distributor” and “the importance of inspecting and setting up overseas brands according to Japanese standards.” Guided by this belief, we perform adjustments on New instruments so that customers can use TMG Guitar and MG Bass with confidence and feel that even New instruments are “ready to play.”
・OEM production of select “hundred” products
“hundred” is a brand produced by TCGAKKI from a hands-on perspective, offering products that are truly practical.
TC-TUNE is responsible for manufacturing some of these products.
Leveraging the technical expertise we’ve honed through the repair of used and vintage instruments, we craft a small but select line of handmade products of assured quality.
・Co-producing the “ ReFine Series ”
The “ReFine Series,” jointly produced by TCGAKKI and TC-TUNE, redefines instruments from the era known as “Japan Vintage” under the concept of making them “suitable for modern music.”
This series was born from the fusion of TCGAKKI’s extensive experience handling “Japan Vintage” instruments and TC-TUNE’s know-how in repairing and adjusting them to playable condition. We are confident that we have succeeded in proposing new value.
・Playful Modifications
Among TCGAKKI’s modifications, the “ glowing knobs ” stand out as particularly playful.
This, too, is the work of TC-TUNE.
We believe that the appearance and design of an instrument are crucial elements that significantly influence the user experience.
At TC-TUNE, we love creating customizations that satisfy the user and allow them to enjoy their instrument even more.
Chief Repair Technician
Soichiro Tanaka
Born in 1988
From Yanagawa City, Fukuoka Prefecture During college, he became fascinated by the mechanics and structure of musical instruments, putting his studies on the back burner to immerse himself in tinkering with them.
At the same time, he handled PA (sound) for a band club, where he learned the importance of crafting the sound for the entire band, not just individual instruments. After graduating from college, he enrolled in the ESP Guitar Craft Academy.
After graduation, he applied for a sales position at The Used Instrument Shop (now TCGAKKI), but was told, “We’re planning to set up a new repair booth,” and was hired on the spot as a repair technician at Recruit.
Through trial and error, with the cooperation and support of many people, he built the current TC-TUNE from the ground up.
