Explanation
Martin / 1975 D-45 Shade Top
【Demo Video】
While natural color is standard for Martin guitars, Shade Top coloring became available as an option around the 1930s. This instrument is one D-45 ordered with the Shade color.
While the hexagon inlays on the fingerboard typically use abalone shell, this instrument features mother-of-pearl. The combination of ebony and white creates a sophisticated impression.
A wiring clamp is visible near the right waist of the body interior. This suggests the guitar may have had pickups installed in the past.
The neck heel shows no signs of an added endpin, preserving its original condition.
The endpin hole has not been enlarged; its diameter is 7.7mm, whereas this instrument's is 10mm, indicating enlargement. However, since there are no signs of enlargement on the end block, we speculate this was done not to install an output jack, but to ensure the endpin's strength.

Beyond its elegance, the warm color scheme lends an impression of understated luxury. The expansive sustain and the lustrous resonance of each individual note are a charm unique to the Martin D-45. The appeal of the D-45 is featured in TCGAKKI's instrument magazine, so please take a look.
