Selmer Paris Alto Saxophone, early SERIE III model (*). No bell engraving. Clear lacquer finish. Manufactured in 2000. Accessories: Original hard case, mouthpiece, strap

[Condition]
Dent on the front of the U-tube > repaired (with lacquer bleeding). Lacquer finish chipped on some keys. Cork buildup on the high F key. Extensive lacquer discoloration (blackening) on the back of the body and the upper joint tube.Overhauled and adjusted after complete disassembly of all keys, internal cleaning, and replacement of all pads (using Serie 3 genuine CHANU metal resonators without rivet buttons), corks, and felts.
[Features & Appeal]
Among Selmer saxophones produced since 1980, the Super Action 80 and the SERIE II have long been the mainstays.
Within this lineage, the SERIE III emerged as “another option.”
Following the soprano and tenor models, the alto was introduced in 1999.
It established a solid position as a new direction for Selmer.
It remained in production for over 20 years, undergoing minor updates along the way, until production was discontinued in October 2021.
The SERIE III is characterized by clear articulation and a light, pure sound free of harshness.
With its sharp attack and sense of speed, it has a character that doesn’t get lost in the mix, making it suitable not only for classical music but also for pop, fusion, and electric ensembles.
Now, regarding this model.
It is priced reasonably for a Selmer saxophone, and the reason is clear.
・No bell engraving (does not affect sound quality)
・The U-tube has a mark where a dent was repaired (this has no effect on function or sound)
While these cosmetic factors lower the instrument’s market value, we’ve kept the price well below the market rate.
Of course, it has been fully overhauled, including disassembly and cleaning, replacement of all pads (CHANU), and replacement of corks and felts. It is in excellent playing condition and ready to use.
