[ Features] The legendary C.G. Korn "Naked Lady" 6M, often discussed alongside the evolution of 1940s jazz. The eye-catching feature is the neck with its signature micro-tuner, emblematic of the 6M. Beyond its practicality, the neck, weighing approximately 200 grams, effectively tightens the resonance of the lightweight body (which lacks a base plate), helping to define the sound's contour.
The rolled tone holes suppress noise while adding natural breadth and richness to the sound. Furthermore, the key posts are directly attached to the tubing without bases, creating a structure with minimal elements to impede vibration. Consequently, the sound propagates throughout the entire instrument as soon as it is played, filling the space expansively.
The design philosophy predates Selmer's ergonomic layout, evident in placements like the low B and B♭ keys positioned to the left of the bell. However, this allows the tone holes to be arranged in a straight line (in-line tone holes), ensuring an exceptionally smooth airflow. The response is vivid, and the pitch balance is stable.
This instrument was made in 1941, a so-called VIII stamp period piece. Aside from minor lacquer wear, it maintains exceptional condition, defying its over 80 years of age. Both its playability and preservation are of the highest caliber.
A rich, full sound that naturally fills the space. Here lies the origin of that sound, the foundation supporting the free expression pioneered by Charlie Parker in the dawn of bebop.
More than just vintage, this is a "living masterpiece" that encapsulates a turning point in JAZZ. Experience its value for yourself.
