Martin / 1984 D-45 Tree of Life
[Playthrough Video]
“Tree of Life”
The fingerboard features a luxurious “Tree of Life” design crafted from abalone shell. While the D-45 is already a top-of-the-line model on its own, the addition of this inlay makes it feel even more special and elegant.
The spruce top is accented with abalone shell purfling and a rosette that shimmers beautifully.
The rosewood sides and back are also adorned with abalone shell inlays, just like the top. The meticulous handiwork of the artisans truly shines through.
There is a touch-up on the finish in the lower right corner of the soundhole. The surface has been finished smoothly to ensure there are no irregularities.
There is a touch-up on the lower left corner of the pickguard. Here, too, the surface has been finished smoothly.
There is a touch-up on the upper-left corner of the headstock. It has been smoothly applied to cover the chipped paint.
[Staff Comment: Hoshino]
In addition to its rich, resonant tone that fills the room, the luxurious “Tree of Life” design—with its vibrant, iridescent sheen—gives this special D-45 the feel of a true work of art. If you’re thinking, “Since it’s a D-45, I want something truly special…,” please give this one a try.
