A Texan with a long scale. In addition to being produced at the Gibson Kalamazoo factory, this is a rare specimen featuring a custom cherry finish.
—Vibrant Cherry Color
The round-shouldered body top is made of spruce and finished in cherry red. Although nearly 60 years old, the reddish hue remains distinctly visible, making this a truly valuable specimen. Judging by its condition, it’s clear this guitar has been carefully preserved.
The small pickguard is secured with four screws and features a logo formed from the initials of “Epiphone.”
Mahogany is used for the sides and back, and like the top, it is vividly colored in cherry red. The warm grain of the mahogany attests to the high quality of the wood used.
The fingerboard is made of rosewood and features the Texan’s iconic parallelogram inlays.
The neck is made of mahogany, and its narrow profile—with a nut width of 40 mm—is a hallmark of this era.
The bridge is a rosewood upper-belly bridge fitted with a ceramic adjustable saddle.
The headstock is adorned with the Epiphone Classic logo and cloud inlays. The truss rod cover is secured with two screws and features an engraved “E” mark.
The tuning machines are KLUSON DELUXE triple-pegs— the same ones used on the J-45.
While sunburst and natural finishes are standard and consistently popular, the rare cherry finish is not only hard to find on the market, but models that retain a strong reddish hue are even rarer and highly sought after. If you’ve been searching for one, please be sure to give this one a try.
[Condition] - While there are some scratches and dents here and there, there are no major cracks in the finish, and it’s in good condition. - There is no muffled sound or buzzing, and it plays well. - String action at the 12th fret: 2.7mm on the 6th string, 2.2mm on the 1st string. - The adjustable saddle allows you to raise or lower the string action.
