A Texan with a long scale. This particular instrument was produced at the Gibson Kalamazoo factory and is a rare example featuring a custom cherry finish.
ーVibrant Cherry Color
The rounded shoulder body top is crafted from spruce and finished in a cherry red color. Despite being nearly 60 years old, it retains a vivid red hue, making it a valuable specimen. Judging by its appearance, it's clear this guitar has been well cared for.
The small-sized pickguard is secured with four screws and features a logo bearing the initials "Epiphone".
Mahogany is used for the sides and back, vividly colored in cherry red like the top. The warm, beautiful grain of the mahogany indicates the use of high-quality wood.
The fingerboard is rosewood, featuring the Texan's iconic parallelogram inlays.
The neck is made of mahogany, and the narrow neck with a 40mm nut width is also characteristic of this era.
The bridge is a rosewood upper belly bridge, fitted with ceramic adjustable saddles.
The headstock is adorned with Epiphone's classic logo and a cloud inlay. The truss rod cover is secured with two screws and features an engraved E-mark.
KLUSON DELUXE triple-lock tuning machines are fitted. These are the same as those used on the J-45.
Sunburst and natural finishes remain timeless favorites, but the rare cherry finish is not only hard to find on the market, but pieces retaining a strong red hue are even more scarce and highly sought after. If you're searching for one, we highly recommend giving this a try.
