🔽~Always by the musician's side~ The History of the J-50, the "Trusted Companion"

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Gibson / 1951 J-50
Introduced in 1942 as a natural-finish variant of the J-45,
the J-50 has enjoyed enduring popularity alongside the J-45, while also gaining a following of its own thanks to its use by artists such as Bob Dylan and James Taylor.
Although it shares the same specifications as the J-45, the J-50 offers a distinct charm—from the fine grain of the spruce used for the top to the differences in the sides and back.
—Naturally Finished Round-Shoulder
The 16-inch round-shoulder body, identical to that of the J-45, is finished in a natural color.
Unlike the sunburst finish, it exudes a sense of sophistication.

A distinctive feature of the ’51 model is its small pickguard with a strong reddish hue.

Mahogany is used for the sides and back, finished in a subdued brown to complement the natural finish.

The fingerboard is made of rosewood and, like the J-45, features dot position markers.

The neck is made of mahogany and has a neck shape with just the right thickness.

A long saddle set on the rosewood upper-belly bridge is a characteristic of this era.

The headstock is adorned with a gold Gibson Modern logo.

The tuning machines are KLUSON flat-plate models.

In addition to the natural finish of the round-shouldered body giving it a unique, special feel, the J-50—with its small pickguard and long saddle—is a rare find on the market.
Furthermore, this guitar is in top condition, with every single part fully original.
