🔽Now is the time to read deeply into Ovation's pursuit of the "ideal acoustic"!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ovation / 1681-5 Adamas II
In this world, there is a kind of binding, a curse, called "common sense.
Have you ever been told with a straight face by a music store employee or a friend that good wood produces good sound, or that old wood produces the supreme sound?
But one day while I was playing a vintage guitar, I suddenly realized that I was not the only one.
I was playing a vintage guitar one day when I suddenly realized, "This guitar could be a little more resonant.
And finally, I thought to myself.
What is the necessity of being made of wood?
It was while thinking this way that I came across Adamas II / 1681-5.
The jet-black body, the multiple sound holes, and the overall appearance that seems to come from outer space.
This is not so much an instrument as an idea. Or perhaps it is a rebellion.
First of all, this guitar uses carbon graphite for the top material. It is not wood.
It is not wood, but it sounds. To be precise, it sounds instantly.
While an ordinary wooden acoustic guitar is saying, "YOKOSHASE," this one is already on its way.
The 1/3-thin top picks up even the slightest touch of the player's fingers, converts it into sound, and releases it.
Sound has a will at the speed of sound. This is no exaggeration.
Back and sides are Ovation's signature lyra chords. Again, this is not wood.
It is shaped like a bowl and pushes the sound back forward, similar to the acoustics of an amphitheater.
And it has a "Deep Bowl" design.
In other words, it produces bass.
A single low chord produces a sound pressure that resonates like a dove tail.
Neck is made of 5 layers of mahogany and maple. Walnut fingerboard. The electronic system is equipped with an OP-24 preamp, and the sound still has the Ovation feel in the best sense of the word, even when the line output is used.
Live or recorded, no one will complain.
Nevertheless, this guitar is not for everyone.
It is not for the hobbyist who wants to play guitar while smelling the wood.
It looks odd, the wood is odd, and the sound is oddly too good.
It is truly a strange and majestic being.
But if you think it's time to break free from the stereotypes of what a guitar should be, then you are in the right place. If you are thinking, "What should a guitar be like?
This jet-black Adamas is the bomb for you.
