*Lightweight body… The inner tubes of the slide and tuning tubes have been thinned to reduce weight.
[Condition]
Solder rework performed on the Z-brace mount in front of the bell (bell side). Finger hook angle of the 1st slide adjusted (moved 3 mm to the left). Solder rework performed on the stopper rod mount of the 3rd slide. Scattered pinholes and peeling in the plating on the casing and slides. Fine scratches and impact marks scattered throughout the instrument.The interior has been cleaned, soft parts replaced (*), and the instrument has undergone a full inspection and maintenance. *For
piston inner felts, we use pressed felt specially ordered by our shop for Bach instruments to ensure stable alignment and durability. The thickness of the felts is fine-tuned to fit each individual instrument.

This is the R (“Reverse”) model from the Vincent Bach 180 Series. It is a discontinued model featuring a 25LR mouthpipe, reverse tuning pipes, and a lightweight body achieved by thinning the inner tubes of the slide and tuning pipes.
True to the reverse tuning design, the airflow is smooth, and the playing feel is more flexible compared to the standard 180 model. Meanwhile, it is paired with a standard-weight 37 gold brass bell and features an original gold-plated finish. Rather than the purely light and airy sound typical of standard lightweight models, the tone possesses a solid depth and richness.
Articulation is clear, and the core of the sound image is sharp. While it possesses the depth unique to a gold brass bell, the response upon inhaling is light and nimble, and the resonance carries far. The playing feel is free, as one would expect from a Reverse model, yet the sound is unmistakably Bach. This exquisite balance is the unique charm of this configuration.
The first owner of this instrument was a renowned player who served as lead in a long-established big band that has been active for over half a century. While it shows some signs of use and has a repair history, the pistons and tubes are in good condition, and the instrument has been fully serviced. It is an instrument that will continue to serve you well for years to come.
