[Features & Appeal]
The 42B Traditional Wrap Model: the origin of Vincent Bach’s large-bore tenor trombones.
Since the 1980s, with the advent of open-wrap designs, a smooth, expansive sound has become the mainstream.
Amidst this trend, there is a reason why the traditional wrap continues to be produced to this day.
A moderate resistance firmly supports the breath, giving the sound core and density.
It’s not just about the instrument sounding; it’s about the sensation of “making it sound.”
This direct response is the very essence of this model.
The articulation is clear and edgy, and the resonance possesses high propulsive power.
Condensed rather than expansive, presence rather than mildness.
It brings out the dynamic appeal of the trombone in a straightforward way.
The resonant tone of the yellow brass bell and its crisp response.
Another appealing feature is its robust tone, which responds exactly to the amount of air you blow into it.
A direction that diverges from today’s mainstream.
That is precisely why this sound possesses a unique persuasiveness.
“This is definitely the one for backing”—
It’s the instrument that makes you feel that this is the one.
