While the RC4558P is famous for being a Malaysian chip, this unit uses the extremely rare Japanese-made RC4558P. Compared to models equipped with the JRC4558D or TL4558P, models equipped with the RC4558P have a wider range, sharper definition, and clearer lows, while also providing extended highs. The compression is strong, sometimes resulting in a slight roughness when playing chords. It has a dynamic and heavy sound. This unit is equipped with an MP-DO1201A board, has a hyphen in the model name, a manufacturer's R mark, and a DC jack without a nut. This is the original overdrive that remains immensely popular even in recent years, and is known for being extremely difficult to obtain. You can experience the most authentic sound ever!
