Explanation
The Thunderbird IV is truly one of a kind, both in terms of sound and looks!
The Gibson Thunderbird was released in 1963. This distinctive body shape, which remains highly popular even today, was designed by Raymond H. Dietrich, an automotive designer who previously worked for Chrysler. In 1965, the design was changed to a "non-reverse body," but a few years later it reverted back to a "reverse body." Production then ceased in 1969. In 1976, it was revived as a model commemorating the 200th anniversary of the founding of the United States and was produced until 1979, but production ended again. Then, starting in 1987, it evolved and transitioned to the current Thunderbird IV.
This 1991 Thunderbird features a 9-ply mahogany and walnut through-neck construction, producing excellent long sustain, while the mahogany body adds rich depth to the mid-low frequencies. It features a powerful, rounded low-mid range that truly embodies the spirit of the Thunderbird. Definitely not an all-rounderBassWhile I can't say that for sure, the unique nuances of his pick playing and his overwhelmingly striking appearance are irreplaceable and one-of-a-kind charms.
