Overview
Silky B♭Trumpet B series. 127mm single piece yellow brass unsoldered large throat bell. French bead design. 460' ML valve bore. Gold plated finish. No case. Made in 1971. New List Price: ¥902,000.
Condition
Re-plated. Main tuning tube water key base has been re-soldered. The bell flare, bell body, and bell base still have minor rippling and unevenness from past sheet metal repairs. The base of the back of the bell is slightly sunken around the base. There are scratches, pinholes in the plating, and minor polishing marks on the entire instrument. The inside of the pipe has been cleaned, all soft parts have been replaced, and all parts have been adjusted and serviced.
Features and Attractiveness
The B1 model was the first model officially released by Reynold Silky. It is characterized by a bright and rich sound that spreads cheerfully from a slightly thicker bell throat. The bell bead is not curled like the current Silky models, but is formed with a French bead, although the winding width is narrower. Although the exterior of the instrument shows a history of repairs and signs of use, there are no problems with the airtightness of the piston or any of the tubes. The overall balance and response are also good.
