Regal / RD-64
Do you ever feel frustrated because, no matter how you slide a slide bar across a standard acoustic guitar, you just can’t seem to capture the gritty, earthy sound of Delta blues or that piercing, metallic sustain of bluegrass?
When you want to add a gritty, swampy feel or a unique sense of melancholy to your music, a flat-top guitar made entirely of wood produces a thin tone that simply can’t fully capture the authentic, earthy feeling you’re seeking. On the other hand, if you turn to original pre-war resonator guitars, you not only face sky-high prices but also run a high risk of encountering critical practical issues—such as deterioration of the internal cone or warping of the neck—making it extremely difficult to find a instrument you can use without hesitation on stage.
The Regal RD-64 is a rugged, practical instrument that breaks through this dilemma, bringing the good old-fashioned resonator sound directly to today’s live performance settings.
Carrying on the legacy of Regal—an iconic brand indispensable to the history of the resonator guitar—it masterfully blends traditional construction with modern playability.
- Classic Resonator Tone
Featuring a traditional spider bridge and aluminum cone design, it perfectly reproduces the nasal, metallic, and vocal-like tone that is the resonator’s greatest appeal.
It delivers overwhelming volume and a piercing attack that will never get lost, even in band ensembles or acoustic sessions.
- Modern reliability you can count on on stage
It eliminates the common issues found in vintage resonators, such as excessive wood warping and unpleasant buzzing in the resonator chamber.
Thanks to modern, high-precision construction, it maintains exceptional durability, allowing it to perform at its best without hesitation—even during aggressive picking or in harsh live environments.
- Playability That Invites Slide Playing
It features the ideal string tension for bottleneck playing in open tunings, along with a neck profile that’s traditional yet comfortable in the hand.
Even when switching from a standard acoustic guitar, the transition feels natural, smoothly opening up new expressive possibilities for your playing style.
As a spice for your music, the resonator guitar is a powerful tool that dramatically expands the expressive range of practical players.
High-quality resonators—with necks and cones in excellent condition, ready to be used on stage immediately after purchase—sell quickly on the market, making this a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for those who have been searching for one.
Be sure to experience the thrill of that gritty yet melancholic metallic tone for yourself with your own slide bar.
