Founded in the UK in 1979, Overwater is a small-batch, custom high-end Bass brand that has earned the deep trust of European studio musicians and professional bassists. Guided by the philosophy of “viewing the electric Bass first and foremost as an acoustic instrument,” Overwater places the utmost importance not only on tone shaping through pickups and preamps, but also on the natural resonance produced by the selection of woods and structural design.
The Progress is one of Overwater’s flagship models, inheriting the beauty of classic Bass design while pursuing modern playability and sound.
The top features beautiful quilted mahogany with a three-dimensional, scale-like grain, while the back is made of walnut. It features a 34-inch scale, fretless design with a one-piece maple neck and an ebony fingerboard.
It is equipped with an OW SB4 pickup and an OW 3-Band EQ preamp. True to Overwater’s philosophy, it is designed to faithfully reproduce the instrument’s natural tone, allowing you to directly experience the character created by the wood and construction. Controls include volume, a balancer, and a 3-band EQ; pulling the volume knob activates the Bright switch.
The sound combines the deep bass provided by the walnut with the warmth of the mahogany in the midrange, and the original dual-coil pickups deliver this tone with a rich, clear output. While the tone is a calm, woody one, the output is tight and cohesive, with a sound that has a solid core. Another great feature is the natural-sounding EQ, which allows you to adjust the tone without distorting the sound.
