Gibson Custom Shop / 2024 Pre-War SJ-200 Rosewood
Rivaling the Martin D-45, the SJ-200 reigns supreme among the top of the top in the acoustic guitar world.
The instrument featured here is a special model recreating the Pre-War era, of which only 96 were ever made, within the line of models also known as the "KING OF THE FLAT-TOPS".
Following the establishment of the Montana factory, pre-war models like the SJ-200 Centennial and the 1938 SJ-200 were released. This model is essentially the successor, a flagship instrument crafted by the current Custom Shop.
It's rarely seen in domestic markets, and many seem to be searching for one.
Its distinctive design features, starting with the pickguard, are particularly notable.
The pickguard is finished in a multi-color scheme featuring blue, yellow, green, and white dot markings, a detail seen only very rarely on original SJs. This style feels truly supreme.
This single design element completely transforms the guitar's atmosphere, showcasing the regal presence of a champion steeped in Gibson's long history.
Other details reveal meticulous attention to craftsmanship, such as the decorative celluloid inlay around the soundhole and the pre-war pattern backstrip.
The crowning touch is around the headstock: the script logo in mother-of-pearl and the Grover Imperial tuners embody the essence of the Pre-War SJ.
Not only the looks, but the wood selection is also meticulous. The body top uses Adirondack spruce, and the sides and back use rosewood, bringing it as close as possible to the specifications of that era.
Furthermore, its sound possesses the potential to elevate the player to the highest level of satisfaction.
The deep bass characteristic of the rosewood-backed Super Jumbo, combined with the quick response and elegant, brilliant tone typical of current models, undeniably represents the pinnacle of performance from today's Gibson.

Upon arrival, we perform internal tube cleaning, appropriate replacement of consumables, and necessary repairs and maintenance. Should the instrument malfunction or cease to produce sound during normal use, we will address the issue free of charge.
