A true treasure that authentically carries on the tradition of the Granada School of Spain. This is a 1994 model crafted by Paco Santiago Marin, the nephew and foremost disciple of the legendary master luthier Antonio Marin Montero.
Paco Marín learned the basics of woodworking from his father, a furniture maker, during his childhood, and then spent many years absorbing the essence of guitar making in the workshop of his uncle, Antonio Marín.Since establishing his own workshop and becoming independent between 1972 and 1973, he has further refined the Granada identity inherited from Antonio, establishing himself as a world-renowned master luthier sought after by professional classical guitarists worldwide.
This instrument is a masterpiece from the 1990s, featuring a spruce top and a luxurious use of the rare and exquisite rosewood for the sides and back. While retaining the dynamic projection and excellent projection characteristic of Granada guitars—sounds that seem to well up from the depths of the body—it stands out for the crisp, hard, and pure tone unique to Paco Marín.Within its stoic resonance, free of any sweetness, the rich power and diverse tonal nuances provided by the Brazilian rosewood are masterfully encapsulated. The matured response and deep resonance unique to a vintage instrument, cultivated over the 30 years since its creation, are truly breathtaking.
