In the 1970s, aircraft technician Charlie Kaman questioned the common assumption that “acoustic = wood,” and from his inspiration as an engineer to create the acoustic of the future, this story begins.
The “Adamas,” introduced in 1976, was designed to maximize sound through trial and error while respecting the beauty and tradition of the acoustic guitar.

The top material chosen was carbon fiber.
By achieving both rigidity and thinness, it realized a “thin, strong” top that conventional wood could not, and is a revolutionary material that fundamentally changed the nature of vibration itself.
As a result, a sound with a strong core was born, distinct from the rounded tone brought about by the aging of wood.

This Super Adamas 1587-2 (made in 1994) is also a guitar that lets you fully feel the design philosophy of a top-of-the-line model.
