Around 1996, Ovation introduced the new "Nature Series"
. Having continuously pursued the ideal acoustic-electric guitar, Ovation returned to the theme of "revisiting the principles of sound and the laws of nature," reconstructing everything from materials and structure to philosophy.
While utilizing the synthetic material Lyra-code, this ambitious creation avoids any sense of inorganic coldness, expressing "the natural resonance that makes a guitar a guitar" through Ovation's distinctive approach.

This particular model is the limited edition NNS779-9 (100 units worldwide), featuring a rosette-style soundhole.
The body employs a Liracord® round back with a Mid Depth profile. This intermediate bowl shape—neither deep nor shallow—is considered Ovation's most balanced design, offering both excellent playability and a moderate body resonance.

The fingerboard is ebony, and the neck is a 5-piece construction (walnut/maple/mahogany).
The preamp is equipped with the Optima, which was installed in higher-end models like the Adamas and Custom Legend at the time.
It features a full-fledged specification with a 4-band EQ plus a notch filter.

*The tuner is unresponsive and unusable. All other outputs and controls function normally.

Visually, the standout feature is the bald eagle graphic on the top.
The bald eagle, America's national bird, was once endangered due to environmental issues.
This model uniquely features it as a symbolic motif conveying a message about conservation and the natural environment.

Regarding the sound, while it strongly conveys the Ovation character, I sense the Ovation philosophy of that era pursuing the "good qualities of a standard acoustic guitar."
Its mid-depth body size offers just the right balance, making it suitable both as a Electric Acoustic and as an acoustic guitar.
Plus, the coolness of the sunburst finish and the striking design make this a very cool instrument.

- After arrival at our shop, we performed a neck reset and nut replacement to optimize playability. You can play it with confidence.
- The tuner on the preamp does not respond. All other functions work fine.
