Beffnick Brace Work: Captivating even Akihito Okano and Takuya Ohashi

Custom-made guitars from Beffnick Brace Works, based in Saga Prefecture.
Recently, they have been used by leading Japanese musicians such as Akihito Okano of Porno Graffiti and Takuya Ohashi of Sukima Switch. These guitars are highly acclaimed for their unique styles crafted from striking woods, as well as their playability and sound.
The brand operates on a custom-order basis to meet the needs of its users, and is currently not accepting new orders. (Although they briefly resumed accepting orders earlier this year, it ended after a short period.)
Perhaps due to their popularity and high user satisfaction, these guitars rarely appear on the used market.
Amidst this, our store has received the "NEO" model, characterized by its wide body and pronounced waist.
The NEO features a Befnik original body size,
with a maximum body width of 415mm—exceeding that of a Dreadnought—
but it tapers significantly toward the top, resulting in a design that feels incredibly comfortable to hold.
I think the design shows excellent consideration for practical use on stage—perhaps it was engineered to minimize fatigue even during long recording sessions or live performances.
The top is made of spruce, while the sides and back feature flame maple with distinct light and dark patterns—it’s so beautiful it’s mesmerizing.
The mahogany used for the neck also features a gentle, wavy flame pattern that is truly beautiful.
The wood used for the headstock veneer also has an exotic look that’s really cool.
The playing feel is excellent as well, with quick attack and well-defined chord tones that produce a wonderful, familiar sound.
It’s a masterpiece of a guitar—a pleasure to look at and even more so to play.
