Cute looks and a fat sound! 1979 Music Master Bass
The Music Master guitar model was first released in 1956, but the Bass made its debut in 1970.
Initially sold as a student model bundled with an amp, it shares the same 30-inch short scale as the MustangBass.
It features the same two-way saddle bridge as the Telecaster Bass, making it a model that, despite being a student model, actually embodies Fender's history.
The Fender short scale is popular for its fat sound, distinct from Jazz Basses or Precision Basses. While MustangBass models have been released in recent years, the Music Master, including reissues, remains a rare model.
This particular instrument has a neck date of '79, a pot date of '79, and while the pickup date is unreadable, we believe it is original.
Its compact, lightweight body offers excellent playability, and the short-scale neck should feel comfortable even for guitarists.
Though positioned as a low-cost model at launch, it delivers a rich, vintage-inspired, mature sound!
Highly recommended as an easy-to-use vintage piece!
