Momose is a Japanese handmade brand that combines a vintage-like sound with modern playability. These custom, handmade Basses are crafted by skilled artisans under the guidance and supervision of Mr. Yasuo Momose, one of Japan’s leading guitar makers.
It features a traditional, ’60s-style configuration with an alder body and rosewood fingerboard. It has the standard headstock shape, which is no longer in production. The logo is branded into the wood, indicating that this is an early-model instrument from the brand’s formative years in the early 2000s.
Whether played fingerstyle or with a pick, it produces a rich, full-bodied midrange sound with abundant harmonics. It delivers a clear, well-defined attack with a fat, characteristic PB tone. This is a truly satisfying instrument with a solid, focused attack!
