This is a fuzz pedal from Mozlite, a company that enjoyed immense popularity in the psychedelic and surf scenes of the 1960s!
In the 1970s, under the brand name "Rosac,"
effect pedals
under the “Rosac” brand. An early “Foxey Lady” model was produced as an OEM product under the “Guild” brand. This model was
commissioned
to Mozlite for production and supplied to Guild. With its crisp, snappy attack and that raw fuzz sound unique to the genre’s early days, it delivers a truly distinctive tone. As you turn up the DEPTH control, not only does the amount of distortion increase, but the tone curve shifts dramatically, resulting in an incredibly destructive sound with emphasized mid-highs. Of course, its long sustain was also wonderfully distinctive. This incredibly killer fuzz could be the perfect choice for guitarists in psychedelic or garage bands. Overall, there is some fading of the lettering and minor rust, but this may simply be proof that it has been cherished and used consistently because of its excellent sound. There’s simply no other way to describe this bold, razor-sharp fuzz sound other than “truly impressive.” The pot date indicates this unit was manufactured in 1968.
