The Gibson Melody Maker guitar was released in 1959. It was launched as a student model to expand the market and is a very simple model equipped with a single single-coil pickup. The Melody Maker Bass was produced for only a few years, from the late 1960s to around 1970. Due to its short production run, fewer of these guitars were produced, making them a rare model to find on the market.
This guitar features an SG-style mahogany body and a short-scale mahogany neck. It has a single humbucker pickup near the neck, making it quite similar in specifications to an EB-0. There are no pickups under the fence, which allows it to be used as a thumb rest and contributes to the sleek look.
The sound follows the same direction as the EB-0 and EB-1, with powerful bass. It's as if it has a built-in subwoofer.BassIt features a distinctive, earth-shattering sound that you won't find anywhere else.
