Masterbuilt, the top-of-the-line series from the Fender Custom Shop, is a special instrument crafted by a select group of highly skilled "Master Builders" belonging to the Custom Shop, who take full responsibility for every step from wood selection to final adjustments.

This instrument is a 1966 Jazz Bass crafted by master builder Jason Smith.
Jason Smith, who studied under the legendary master builder John English, has been involved in the creation of numerous artist models. He is known as a builder who enjoys the deep trust of many top bassists, including Flea and Steve Harris.

This 2023 model is based on the 1966 specifications, featuring an alder body, round rosewood fingerboard, and matching headstock, but incorporates modern features throughout, resulting in a special specification unique to Masterbuilt guitars.

I used a Fender High Mass bridge and lightweight tuners.RecruitThis achieves excellent body balance and a clear sound image.
The neck has a U-shape, providing a firm and comfortable grip.

The midrange has a solid presence, and while the tone is calm, it's by no means dark; it's a crisp sound with a clear outline.
The sustain that extends smoothly from the moment you pronounce it is incredibly pleasant.
Not only is it incredibly satisfying to play alone, but it also fits perfectly into the desired range of notes within an ensemble.
