Explanation
Martin / 2023 CTM D-28
“A Playful D-28 from the Custom Shop”
The sides and back feature Indian rosewood with a wide grain pattern and a pale color that gives it a unique character. The Vintage White binding, accented by a checkered center strip, adds a touch of flair.
The spruce top features the standard Vintage White binding and multicolored purfling. The rosette is a distinctive decorative element unique to this model. While rosettes are typically made with multicolored celluloid, this instrument features additional decoration using abalone shell in addition to the multicolored celluloid.
The fingerboard is made of ebony with subtle stripes and features dot position marks made of mother-of-pearl. This pattern also serves as proof that natural wood was used.
While a satin finish is typically the standard for Martin’s slim, comfortable necks, this model features a gloss finish— another specification unique to the CTM series.
The Downberry bridge is fitted with a short saddle, and the ivory bridge pins are accented with abalone shell dots.
The headstock, made of Indian rosewood veneer, features a Golden Era-style logo and a gloss finish.
The tuners are GROVER open-back models, and the butterbean-shaped buttons lend an authentic feel.
