Explanation
Martin / 2003 D-28 CTM
Do you find yourself in a dilemma—longing to own the D-28, the timeless standard of acoustic guitars, yet unable to settle for the same generic sound and look as every other player?
You want the reassuring sense of a true classic, but you also want to express your own unique personality. Yet if you can’t afford a high-end model like the D-45 and end up settling for the standard D-28, you won’t be able to fully experience the joy of owning that special instrument you truly sought—nor will you be able to tap into 100% of your motivation to play.
This Martin D-28 CTM perfectly balances that classic appeal with a sense of uniqueness, delivering a superb tone that’s in a league of its own compared to the standard model.
Assembled by Martin’s master craftsmen to special specifications, this instrument holds overwhelming potential and expressive power that far exceed the boundaries of the standard line.
- A sound in a class of its own, unique to custom models CTM models feature carefully selected woods of a higher grade than those used in the regular line. While retaining the D-28’s signature powerful, full-bodied bass, it boasts more delicate and rich harmonics, along with an overwhelmingly fast response that conveys every nuance of your picking.
- A superb tone refined over 20 years More than 20 years have passed since its manufacture in 2003, allowing the wood to dry thoroughly. From the very day you purchase it, you’ll experience a mellow, rounded tone—something a New custom model could never achieve—along with rich sustain that envelops the space, making it ready for action right away.
- The Unparalleled Sense of Exclusivity That Comes with Owning a One-of-a-Kind Instrument Custom specifications packed with meticulous attention to detail—something you won’t find in mass-produced standard models. On stage or in the recording studio, it exudes a special aura that sets it apart from a standard D-28, powerfully supporting the player’s unique style.
Since the specifications of each custom model vary depending on when it was ordered and its design concept, every instrument is a truly once-in-a-lifetime encounter. Furthermore, high-quality examples from the early 2000s—where the sound has fully matured while retaining the playability needed to withstand today’s demanding performance environments—are rarely available on the market, and we cannot guarantee you’ll find another one like this.
Please experience for yourself—with your own strumming—the rich resonance unique to custom specifications, which sets this guitar apart from our standard models.
