Martin / 1992 HD-28 CTM LSH (Large Sound Hole)
This HD-28 captures the essence of pre-1940s Martin guitars, featuring "herringbone" purfling and a "zigzag" backstrip.

This particular instrument has been further customized and features a larger soundhole.
While the standard diameter is around 101 mm, this one measures 111 mm.
It certainly seems to have a striking presence when you look closely.

Furthermore, the fingerboard lacks the inlays that would normally be present.

Just by looking at it, some of you may be able to imagine what the person who had this guitar custom-made by Martin back then was thinking.
That’s right.
It’s reminiscent of that 1935 D-28 “Antique” once owned by bluegrass legend Clarence White and later passed down to Tony Rice, isn’t it?
(In reality, it has fingerboard binding and a neck with a slight flare, but I’m sure there was a special sentiment behind it.)
The neck profile is round and substantial.
It’s a shape that makes you think, “This feels substantial,” the moment you pick it up.

The tone is, above all, full-bodied.
Even when playing single notes, you can enjoy a tone with real body.
When strumming chords, the core of each note blends harmoniously to create a crisp, "ringing" nuance, so I think those who like to strum vigorously will really enjoy it.
"If only I could play like that..." It’s a guitar that makes you feel like two great musicians are watching over you from the shadows, boosting your motivation to practice.
