we’ve just received is a 1980 model that truly embodies that commitment to excellence. It features a
Sitka spruce top, Indian rosewood sides and back, and a jet-black ebony fingerboard and bridge.
Even at first glance, it’s clear that the finest woods—distinct from those used in standard models of the time—have been used without compromise.
Additionally, 1980 marked a pivotal year when the tuner specifications shifted from Grover to Schaller.
This instrument is equipped with the original Schaller tuners from that era, complete with the Martin logo.
(*The pickguard has been replaced.)

In terms of appearance, there are playing scratches around the soundhole and pickguard, and some scratches around the pickguard even extend down to the wood.Additionally, there is a crack repair (glued and oversprayed) in the lower-left corner of the pickguard, as well as a glued repair at the center joint beneath the bridge on the top of the body.
However, these marks also serve as a testament to the fact that this guitar has been thoroughly played by successive owners and carefully maintained by skilled craftsmen as it has been lovingly passed down through the years.
It exudes a truly wonderful character and dignity that only a vintage guitar cherished for so long can possess.

Of course, the sound is also of the highest quality.
The lustrous and dazzling high frequencies are evident in the way the sound comes to life the moment you strum a single chord. The overall resonance, born from a
rich array of harmonics, spreads endlessly and comfortably—even when played unamplified—as if an Effector were applied, filling the entire space around you with the sound of the D-45.
Despite this immense depth and breadth, the low frequencies never become muddy, nor is the sound harsh or piercing to the ears.
It is truly the supreme sound that can only be experienced with a “Martin D-45.” In addition to its beautiful,

- Pickguard
, nut, saddle, and bridge pins replaced - Crack repairs on the lower-left corner of the pickguard and the center-lower section of the top (glued and oversprayed)
- The included original hard case is missing its logo. Although there is some damage, such as cracks in places, it is in usable condition.

[Playing Condition]
- String action at the 12th fret: 2.2 mm on the 6th string side, 1.8 mm
on the 1st string side - Saddle height: approx. 3.0 mm to 3.5 mm - There are no muffled
notes or buzzing, and the instrument plays well.
