Martin / 1976 D-76
In July 1976, the United States celebrated its 200th anniversary.
The D-76 was produced in a limited run of 1,976 units to commemorate the bicentennial.
While it is essentially a D-35, it features various specifications unique to the United States throughout the instrument.

First and foremost is the American eagle inlay on the headstock, a symbol of the United States.

Additionally, the 13 star inlays on the fingerboard represent the 13 original states, a motif familiar from the stripes on the American flag.

With Sitka spruce on the top and Indian rosewood on the sides and back (the back is a three-piece design), it is clear that this D-35 was produced as a Bass.

One notable difference is the herringbone rosette.

As befits a commemorative model, the D-76 features high-grade wood.
This may be why the D-76 is so popular, with its distinctive, powerful sound and well-balanced harmonics.
Please be sure to try the D-76, which is appealing not only for its looks but also for its sound.
