Martin / 1968 D-35
The D-35 was introduced in 1965 due to the depletion of rosewood, which had been used in Martin's flagship models such as the Style-28 and Style-40.
The rosewood used for the back is in 3 pieces.RecruitThis method offered the advantage of being able to achieve the desired result with a smaller area of material compared to using two separate pieces.
Later, it became a popular model, on par with the D-28, thanks to its use by artists such as Thom Yorke and Takuro Yoshida.
- Three-piece rosewood back
The sides and back of the dreadnought-note body are adorned with quarter-sawn 3-piece rosewood.
Compared to the 2P of style-28, it produces a softer sound and a well-balanced, rich tone.
The top is made of spruce, and the multi-stripe binding gives the body a refined look.
The pickguard has been replaced with one that does not have a painted finish.
The fretboard is made of ebony and features dot position markers.
Another difference from the D-28 is the binding on the sides of the fretboard.
The neck is made of mahogany and features a soft V-shaped grip.
Combined with the 42mm nut width, it provides an optimal grip.

The ebony downbelly bridge is fitted with a short saddle.
The rosewood veneer headstock features a rounded shape, characteristic of the 1960s.
Additionally, it features a decal of the classic CF Martin logo.

These pegs were used until around 1978.
Unlike the D-28, the D-35 has visual differences such as the look of the back wood and the binding on the sides of the fingerboard, and its charm lies in the gentle, resonant tone that is unique to the D-35.
