[Features & Appeal]
LOTUS Trumpets ’ SILVER FLARE has overturned the conventional wisdom regarding “silver bell trumpets.”
The use of silver in trumpet bells has a long history, with many manufacturers—starting with the legendary American brand KING—having experimented with it over the years.
Its appeal lies in its rich, deep resonance. However, this has always come hand in hand with challenges such as increased weight and sluggish response.
The SILVER FLARE has brilliantly overcome this trade-off.
By using 99.9% pure silver for the bell flare and combining it with yellow brass for the stem, it achieves both rich overtones and a light, responsive feel.
It eliminates the “heaviness” and “sluggishness” typically associated with silver, delivering a surprisingly smooth and agile playing experience.
The sound is sweet and soft, yet lustrous.
When played with full breath, the sound projects brilliantly; at soft volumes, it can be delicately controlled while maintaining density. It feels as though the very “range” of the sound has expanded.
Furthermore, the high-precision nickel silver leadpipe and bronze receiver, both machined from solid blocks, ensure a solid core and stability of sound.
By switching between the three types of tuning slides (yellow brass, bronze, and nickel silver), you can freely vary the sound character.
It goes a step beyond the traditional perception of the silver bell as an instrument reserved for special occasions.
It has been perfected as a “practical silver bell” that responds to the player’s intent, regardless of genre or setting.
Richness and agility can coexist.
This is a masterpiece that proves it.
