This is a Marshall "Supa Fuzz" manufactured by SOLASOUND in the UK around 1966!
This is an OEM model produced by the British company Sola Sound (later Colorsound), based on their "PROFESSIONAL MK II." Other well-known OEM models include the VOX Tone Bender, PROFESSIONAL MK II, and Park Fuzz. The MK II was produced from around 1966 to 1968 and uses three germanium transistors in its circuitry. It features a rugged hammer-gray chassis with control knobs similar to those found on Marshall amplifiers. It exudes a different vibe compared to its sister model, the VOX TONE BENDER MK II.The simple control layout, consisting only of VOLUME and FILTER (GAIN), reflects the era. It is equipped with three OC75 germanium transistors. While some units feature a printed circuit board, this particular unit uses a hand-wired layout.Even at the minimum FILTER setting, you get plenty of distortion; as you turn it up, the harmonics increase and the sound gains body. It delivers a choppy, hard distortion with ample sustain, but the compression causes the sustain to taper off sharply (gate effect), so if you turn down the guitar’s volume, the sustain becomes choppy and the sound takes on a lo-fi character. It is one of the rare models that has become almost impossible to find on the market these days.
