M.Shiozaki / 2020s HLR-1MD
The item we're introducing today is a piece crafted by one of Japan's leading luthiers.
Mr. Shiozaki, a living legend who established his workshop in Ehime Prefecture in 1982 and has nurtured numerous master craftsmen who are now active on the front lines of the industry.
From the brand "M.SHIOZAKI," where he single-handedly handles every step from woodworking to finishing, comes the ultimate original model, "HLR-1MD," which he has been working on for a long time.

At the heart of this guitar lies the vast wisdom that Mr. Shiozaki has accumulated over many years by disassembling and thoroughly studying countless pre-war vintage guitars.
In particular, the "multilayered harmonic structure" that he discovered in the process of recreating the sound of the legendary D-45 has been generously incorporated into this model.
The moment you play a single note, you're enveloped in a fantastical and profound resonance, as if you were playing in the center of a hall with excellent acoustics.
Each note is remarkably clear, yet the rich, full tone is enhanced by a prominent woody character.
The fretboard is made of jet-black ebony, and the bridge is made of rosewood; perhaps this combination creates an exquisite balance.
Furthermore, it can be argued that the use of hide glue, which does not hinder sound transmission, and an ultra-thin lacquer finish during assembly creates an overwhelming response that is directly connected to the player's emotions.
The breathtaking beauty of its form, which captivates not only the ears but also the eyes, is a testament to the handcrafted nature of these pieces.
The fretboard proudly displays a mother-of-pearl inlay of the word "salt," designed in a style reminiscent of a personal seal.

Furthermore, the joint between the neck heel and the cutaway is adorned with green-stained burl wood.
It evokes the same exhilarating feeling as wearing good shoes, possessing an appeal that only those who understand can appreciate.

The uncompromising and exceptional craftsmanship elevates expressiveness to an unprecedented level, regardless of genre or play style.
