Explanation
"I’d love to own a top-of-the-line 1959 Les Paul Reissue someday, but I’m not quite satisfied with the grain’s impact or those vintage-specific nuances found in current models." "I want to find that ‘guitar for a lifetime’—one with such an overwhelming aura that it enriches my life just by sitting in my room, not just when I play it." Precisely because the ’59 Les Paul holds such a special place in a guitarist’s heart, there are surely many who refuse to compromise in their search.
That three-dimensional, undulating grain of the golden-age 1950s Les Paul, and that magical tone that transforms completely with a single strum. However, among the countless reissue models available, it’s not easy to find one where the visual appeal and the depth of the sound are in perfect harmony. When it comes to instruments from an era when time and money were truly spared no expense on details and materials, finding them on the market is becoming increasingly difficult with each passing year.
This masterpiece from the golden age of the Custom Shop satisfies the cravings of even the most discerning Les Paul enthusiasts. Born from the Program that reigned as the pinnacle of Les Paul reissues at the time, this is the 2003 Historic Collection 1959 Les Paul Standard Reissue.
It encapsulates the highest-quality materials and details from an era when the newly restructured Gibson poured extraordinary passion into its craft.
A deep, swirling, alluring grain that captivates the viewer. The body top is lavishly finished with a deep, vivid grain that changes its three-dimensional appearance depending on the viewing angle. It boasts a breathtakingly alluring and beautiful presence that instantly draws the attention of those around you.
Burstbucker 1 & 2, a perfect recreation of the original PAF. Equipped with these masterful pickups, newly redesigned in 2003 to replicate even the individual variations caused by the aging of original PAFs. The front position features slightly fewer coil turns, producing a delicate, clean, crisp, and exquisite wood tone. The rear position replicates the DC resistance of around 8.0kΩ commonly found in originals. It achieves a perfect balance of a mellow tone and a superb attack that retains a solid core even when distorted.
With uncompromising vintage details, the neck features a thick, substantial grip that truly embodies the spirit of a 1959 model. Furthermore, every detail has been meticulously crafted without sparing time or expense, including the Bumblebee replica capacitors—the cornerstone of its tone.
The greatness of this guitar lies not only in its incredible potential on stage or in the studio. Imagine relaxing at home and glancing over at a corner of the room. Just seeing this guitar sitting there is enough to make you sigh, “What a fantastic guitar—I’m so glad I bought it,” as you enjoy a drink and savor a moment of pure bliss. It is a masterpiece that truly enriches your life.
Among the many current series, the Historic Collection from the early 2000s is particularly highly regarded for its musical perfection and the quality of its wood. This instrument, which has reached the pinnacle in every aspect—appearance, sound, and the joy of ownership—is a special gem that we truly hope will be acquired not only by guitarists who are serious about performing but also by mature collectors who appreciate genuine value.
A 2003 miracle that stirs the soul of the beholder and, the moment you pick it up, transports you to the realm of the ultimate vintage tone. Please experience this one-of-a-kind Les Paul—your lifelong companion—with your own hands.
