The Active Modified Highway One Jazz Bass!
The Fender USA Highway One series offers excellent value—Made in the USA at an affordable price. While the reasonable price is achieved by omitting part of the painting process, this popular series is known for its pursuit of the wood’s natural “resonance” through the use of a thin nitrocellulose lacquer finish.
This modified model features classic wood combinations—an alder body and a rosewood fingerboard—and is equipped with Bartolini electronics. It features a Bartolini TCT preamp, with controls including volume, balancer, treble, and Bass. The bridge has been replaced with a BADASS II.
This guitar is characterized by a warm sound focused on the low to low-mid range. It features deep bass, rich mids, and just the right amount of attack, resulting in a remarkably smooth tone. The open resonance of the Highway One body pairs perfectly with the Bartolini electronics, making this a great modification that delivers a warm sound despite being active!
