Fuzz pedals were born in the 1960s and continue to be loved today. Among them, the Triangle V1 First—considered one of the earliest models—was built using "Point To Point" wiring, where parts are connected directly to each other on a Parchment board (snake-eye PCB), making it both highly unstable and artistic.
The "GRUFF V1" was created by studying the Triangle V1 First and recreating its sound. The "GRUFF result" is the model developed using those research findings. RoShi Pedals released the "GRUFF V1" after thoroughly comparing it with their own Triangle V1 First and undergoing repeated development cycles.I don’t think there are many pedals that have been researched and designed to this extent based on the historically valuable Triangle V1 First. At the very least, I have never seen a pedal that sounds as close to my own unit as this one.
The ADD CBF model is a version that adds Clean Blend and Clean LPF (low-pass filter). By blending the clean signal with the GRUFF distortion, it creates a three-dimensional sound where the core remains even amidst the roar. I think this is the long-awaited fuzz pedal, especially for bassists.
< Control >
blend: Adjusts the balance between the GRUFF sound and the clean signal.
c-lpf: Applies an LPF (low-pass filter) to the clean signal (similar to the TONE control on a typical Effector). Adjusting this allows you to blend only the low-frequency components of the clean signal.
c-vol: Adjusts the volume of the clean signal.
(The following is about the GRUFF result)
A Triangle Muff clone meticulously researched from the Triangle V1 First and crafted with uncompromising attention to detail—undoubtedly the pinnacle of its class!
The first BIG MUFF π, designed by Bob Meyer—an engineer at Electro-Harmonix led by Mike Matthews—was born in 1971 . It is known as the "Triangle Muff" due to the layout of its knobs . This model reproduces the sound of the Triangle V1 First, which represents the very earliest days of the "Triangle Muff . "
No pedal has ever been researched and designed to this extent. Not only does it deliver a powerful sound, but it also features that unique vintage grit (a texture that cannot be achieved simply by assembling run-of-the-mill parts), ample sustain, and a sound accompanied by harmonics that bubble up and saturate—enough to captivate any fuzz enthusiast.
The mini-switches function as follows: left for Triangle Mode, center for Low-Cut Mode, and right for +Mid Mode. +Mid Mode preserves the raw character while adding high-mid frequencies, allowing you to create a sound that stands out even within a band ensemble.
Sano’s recommended pedal! Be sure to experience this sound for yourself!!
