*Please note that as this is a used/vintage item, the information provided is based on our inspection and is limited to what we were able to determine.
We appreciate your understanding.
- Although the top of the body is over 100 years old, when compared to the aging of the sides and back, the surface appears as smooth as new, suggesting that it has been refinished.
Documentation, including photographs, indicates that a pickguard was originally installed, but over time, the pickguard and bridge peeled away; the refinishing was performed to restore the instrument to its original condition. - A crack on the right side of the body (along the binding) has been repaired.
- There are four repair marks that appear to be fillings on the upper part of the endpin (toward the top) at the body end.
- The body top shows small dents, primarily around the bridge.
- The sides and back show paint damage (peeling and softening of the lacquer), as well as scratches and dents.
Additionally, the instrument has been relacquered.
- There are signs that the neck heel has been reset.
- While the tuning peg buttons are made of mother-of-pearl, the button on the 2nd string has been replaced with one made of a different material.
- The flathead screw securing the 4th string’s tuning peg button is missing.
However, please rest assured that it is securely fastened and will not come loose during tuning (please note that it will come off if pulled with force)
. - The saddle has been replaced.
[Playing Condition]
- There is no muffled sound or buzzing, and the instrument plays well.
- String action at the 12th fret: 3.0 mm on the 6th string side, 2.0 mm on the 1st string side. -
Saddle projection: approx. 0.5 mm
