- Despite the body top being over 100 years old, its surface remains exceptionally smooth compared to the aged changes on the sides/back, suggesting it has been refinished.
Documentation and photos indicate this refinishing was done to restore the original condition after the pickguard and bridge peeled off over time.
- Repair visible on the crack along the body's right side waist (following the binding).
- Four areas of filler-like repair are present near the top of the end pin hole at the body's end.
- Small impact marks are visible on the body top, primarily around the bridge area.
- The sides/back show finish damage (peeling, lacquer softening), scratches, and impact marks.
Additionally, an over-lacquer has been applied.
- Evidence of a neck reset is visible at the neck heel.
- While the peg buttons are white mother-of-pearl, the 2nd string button has been replaced with a different material.
- The flathead screw securing the 4th string peg button is missing.
However, it is securely fastened and will not come loose during tuning (please note that it will come off if pulled with force).
- The saddle has been replaced.
