The smooth surface is waterproof, and the cushion is thick enough to provide good protection. The most exciting feature is that it is designed to be placed vertically. Soft cases do not have feet, so even if they can be placed vertically, they are unstable, and if placed directly on the case, they get dirty... Have you ever experienced such a situation on a train?
