Gibson / 1964-65 Heritage Custom
[Comment from the person in charge: Hoshino]

The "Heritage Custom" is a particularly rare model within the Gibson lineup.
Many people probably thought of a Martin D-28 when they saw its appearance, right?
The J-45, introduced in 1942, the Hummingbird, introduced in 1960, and the Dove, introduced in 1962, are all legendary guitars used in both solo acoustic performances and band sounds.
From the 1950s to the 1960s, a boom known as American folk music flourished, and the emergence of singers such as Bob Dylan and Peter, Paul and Mary undoubtedly inspired and influenced many musicians.
One guitar that played a major role in the folk music boom is the Martin D-28.
The body, a combination of spruce and rosewood, boasts a well-balanced sound and rich tone, which quickly made it popular.
I imagine Gibson probably wanted to create a guitar that combined spruce and rosewood, perhaps aiming to emulate the Martin D-28.
Let's take a look at some of Gibson's hidden gems.
—The vibrant grain of the jacaranda wood

The sides and back are made of beautifully figured Brazilian rosewood.
The simple decoration, consisting only of tortoiseshell-patterned binding, allows you to appreciate the beautiful grain of the Brazilian rosewood.
- Round shoulder top

- Pickguard

-Bridge

The large ebony bridge, reminiscent of a ribbon silhouette, is fitted with ivy inlays and a short saddle.
- Headstock

The large headstock features Gibson's modern logo, a cactus inlay, and an ivy inlay.
The 2P truss rod cover is stamped with "Heritage".
- Tuning Machine

The tuner is a KLUSON waffleback tuner.
The nickel keystone buttons enhance its stylish look.
