Gibson / 2002 Luthier's Choice Advanced Jumbo
Representative's Comment: Inoue
"A supreme masterpiece that revives the legendary pre-war model using the finest Brazilian rosewood."
The original "Advanced Jumbo," produced for only four years starting in 1936, is considered one of the most elusive models on the vintage Gibson market.
This instrument is an exceptionally special piece—a reissue of that Advanced Jumbo crafted in 2002 by master artisans at the Gibson Custom Shop as part of the top-tier “Luthier’s Choice” line.
It features a combination of a rosewood body and a long scale—a rare find even within Gibson’s traditional lineup.
Not only are the sides and back made of rosewood, but the fingerboard and bridge are also lavishly crafted from the highest-grade Brazilian rosewood (Hacalanda), which is extremely difficult to obtain today.
With its deep, reddish-black hue and exotic grain swirling powerfully, it exudes a truly exceptional aura at first glance.
The spruce top, finished with an ultra-thin lacquer coat, features a vibrant fire-stripe pickguard, a single-ring rosette, and a rectangular bridge with a long saddle.
On the headstock, a pearl-inlaid script logo and diamond-and-arrow inlays shimmer subtly, while the tuning machines are Waverly open-back pegs—details sure to satisfy even the most discerning vintage enthusiasts.
The nut width is approximately 44 mm.
The neck profile features a slightly thicker D-shape, providing a satisfying grip and rich resonance.
The quick response felt the moment you strum a chord, combined with the rich resonance unique to a rosewood body, is truly exceptional.
The powerful projection unique to a long scale beautifully blends with a rich, dense tone, allowing you to experience a bold, resonant body sound. Even when playing single notes, the definition of each string stands out, and the clear resonance and long sustain are simply breathtaking.
It delivers a sound of overwhelming conviction that defies the typical image of Gibson guitars, which are usually built primarily from mahogany and maple.
A masterpiece that satisfies the desire to own it in every aspect—looks, sound, and rarity.
Please experience this supreme instrument—a recreation of a historic legend crafted from the finest materials—with your own hands.
