Gibson / 1967 Hummingbird Natural
The Hummingbird is one of the iconic models in Gibson’s square-shoulder lineup.
True to its name, the hummingbird engraving on the pickguard is truly captivating.
—Pickguards with mixed coloring variations
Starting in 1967, the coloring of the design carved into the pickguard was changed.
While the butterfly, petals, hummingbird’s beak, wings, and tail feathers were painted yellow, and the rest of the design was painted white, this particular model is characterized by its uniform yellow coloring—a feature from before the change.
These two variations coexist even within the same year of 1967.

The rosewood bridge on the upper belly has been modified to convert from an adjustable saddle to a throttle saddle.
You can see that the rosewood has been used to fill in the marks left by the adjustable saddle.

The square-shouldered body top is made of spruce and finished in a natural color.
There is one crack repair each at the top right of the soundhole, the center below the saddle, and the bottom left of the top, but they have been thoroughly reinforced, so you can use this guitar with confidence.

Mahogany is used for the sides and back.
The cherry-colored patina and weather checking from years of use give the instrument a dignified presence.

The fingerboard is made of rosewood, and the guitar features a slim, narrow neck.
The inlay features a double parallelogram design.

The neck is made of mahogany and has a neck shape of moderate thickness.

The oversized headstock features the Gibson modern logo and a crown inlay.
Another distinctive feature is that the crown inlay is positioned lower, closer to the nut.
The bell-shaped truss rod cover is a 3-piece design.

It is equipped with KULUSON DELUXE tuning machines.
The gold hardware enhances the instrument’s luxurious look.

The natural-colored Hummingbird has been as popular as the cherry-colored model since its debut in 1963.
With its tasteful weather checking, this is a guitar that lets you fully appreciate the charm of a vintage instrument.
