Gibson / 1963 J-45 Cherry Sunburst
[Editor's Note: Inoue]

A vintage J-45 with a very cool contrast of red and yellow
One of the fun aspects of choosing a vintage J-45 is the variety of sunburst colors on the body top.
In the early ’60s, the outer edge of the body top had a blackish hue, and from around ’64 onward, the red tones often faded, giving it an orange-like appearance.
The model we’ve just received is a 1963 instrument that falls right in between those periods.
The outer edge of the body top has a strong reddish tone, while the yellow toward the center remains, creating a very cool look.
In the 1990s, a finish called "Heritage Cherry Sunburst" was introduced on models like the J-45, Les Paul, and Les Paul Custom, and this guitar has a similar look.
The pickguard is a thin, large-sized tortoiseshell pattern that matches the body top’s color perfectly.
Since the pickguard was changed to a thicker version the following year, opportunities to find this specific finish and specification are quite rare.
The neck features a regular grip with a 43mm nut width.
The headstock angle is 17 degrees.
The bridge has been changed from rosewood to ebony,
and the saddle has been replaced from an adjustable to a straight design,
allowing you to enjoy a rich, full-bodied tone with solid low-midrange presence.
For those who want to be particular about even the "face" of their J-45, or who have been searching for this specific style and look, this is a model we highly recommend you try out.
